Persuasive Language Features

LI: to explore the language features of a persuasive text.

This term we have been learning about persuasive writing to help us prepare for the school speech competition, that will be happening later in this term. Persuasive writing is used when you want to make others think like you, and have the same opinion as you. We were looking closely at the language features used in a persuasive text. I have chosen to share the persuasive language feature of emotive language. I think authors use this language feature to make others feel what they are feeling by using emotions. In a persuasive writing piece, you should have reasons and evidence, to show why your opinion is correct.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt different language features that can be used in persuasive writing.

Vision Board 2024

LI: To create goals to achieve at the end of the year.

This task was to create a vision boards.

A vision boards is like your achieve at the end of the year. In vision board I want to be a Dame Valerie Kasanita Adams who is Strong, skilled, smart, kind and confident I also want to go tamaki collage to achieve my goals and I also want to be a smarter, Stronger and confident.

I enjoyed because it tells about achieve my goals.

 

Ancient Greek logo

LI: To make your own Ancient Greek logo.

For this task me and my partner made an ancient greek logo representing the different kinds of olympics they had in Greece. The Olympics were made to honour Zeus the father of gods and he is the strongest olympian god because of his mighty strength and his power to throw lightning bolts. The wreath is a victory crown to honour the athlete who wins the games or if  they did really good they would get a statue of themselves. And the map of ancient Greece is where the Olympics started in 776 BC and the first Olympics were held in Athens.

 

Tivaevaea Design

This week we made a Tivaevae Design in a google draw about cook island. We watch two videos about how they make a Tivaevae cusion or design and we have anwser the maths question in the slides and use a whiteboard with a whiteboard maker and a easer to wipe out and then we go to the google draw and we made our own Tivaevae Design.

I enjoyed this activity because we can make our own Tivaevae Design.

Calling all riders

LI: To make connections (self, text, world)

LI: To identify the main ideas – negotiation game

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

LI: To practise skimming and scanning by looking for key words in the text when answering questions

Our book we read was calling all riders. for this task we worked togther as a group and included others. we even did our own predictions about the text. and we used the comment tool to reply to the story. The last thing we did was infering by looking at the pictures and guessing whats happening in the text.

I found this Inresting because I did’t konw that much information about bikes.

2 words 2 minute

Today we used the ‘2 words 2 minute’ the challenge was to write a sentence about the ancient olympics. After talking in pairs about the things we knew about the ancient olympics we created a list of words. the words was  ‘Greece’ and ‘athletes’ to help us think about what we were going to write.We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 2 minutes to put those ideas into sentences. we were trying our best to use the words on our book. After the time was up 2 minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense or if we had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on writing.

This activity was fun because I was getting butter every time I write. It went to 20 to  97.

Addition algorithm

Addition algorithm is the opposite of Subtraction algorithm since addition is adding up the numbers and subtraction is taking away the numbers away, Which makes addition the opposite of subtraction. I explained more of how addition algorithm works, please check it out.

I found this activity education because I’m explaining/teaching how addition algorithm works in my DLO.

Rewrite but don’t use

LI: to use a wider variety of vocabulary

Today we learned about rewrite but don’t use.

We have to pick our pairs and we have to get one writing and chrome book, We have to rewrite and can’t use letter like E. We have to write into our book and other have to find a work means the same word and it is called wordhippo. We have to dlo about the rewrite and we use sound recorder to voice the original and our text.

I enjoy this activity because it was hard if you find the same word.

Samoan Language Week Priting

This week we made a DLO for samoan language week. First I went and searched for an image and trace inside the image. Next I pick the colour for my samoan Flower. Lastly I explained about what does my samoan flower Represent and its colour.

I enjoyed this activity because I get to learn about the what does the samoan Flower represent.

 

Matariki star design

LI: To create our own star

For this task I designed a matariki star. I  added some few ideas and details on paper, deciding what design I should choose. The Green represents papatuanuku because she is the Earth Mother.

I found this acivitiy fun and interesting because I got explore what are the Green represents and what they mean.
